Rev. Nathan Mattox

Hi, I’m Nathan Mattox, Pastor of the church family at Meadowcreek since June 2020. I’ve been in ministry in some form or fashion (youth ministry, campus ministry, and local church ministry) for 20 years in Arkansas, California, and Oklahoma. My wife's name is Myranda, and we have a blended family of 2 boys and 2 girls, Wesley, Mia, Julianna, and Madden, along with our two small dogs, Bentli and Lambo. I enjoy my record collection, fine art and movies, my fish aquarium, smoking meats on the back porch, playing tennis, golf, and “calling the Hogs” as a Razorback sports fan.

I grew up in Arkadelphia in southwest Arkansas. After attending Hendrix College in Arkansas and Oxford University in England, I worked as a youth minister for a couple years in Bartlesville before going to Claremont School of Theology to receive my Master's of Divinity. I was ordained as an Elder in the United Methodist Church in 2008.

What means the most to me in ministry is showing hospitality and love to our neighbors; and stretching people of faith to be governed by grace and kindness above all else. I can’t choose a favorite Bible verse, but one that keeps bouncing around in my head for the past 42 years is 1 John 4:16: “God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them.”
